Wagners Composite Fibre Technologies (CFT)
April 2025
Welcome to Wagners Composite Fibre Technologies' (CFT) monthly newsletter, which has been created to keep you informed on designing, constructing and working with Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) profiles.
Discovereverything you will ever need to know about piling with Wagners CFT, Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) piles including pile requirements, composite piles vs steel, timber or concrete, Wagners FRP piles vs traditional composites, design methodologies and driving techniques.
Wagners CFT Technical Lead, Dr Ali Mohammed and Global Business Development Lead, Michael Kemp will also explore several case studies, current developments and Wagners CFT services from design through to installation and hire equipment.

Linesman predicts tsunami of demand for FRP utility poles
Designingwith Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) has never been easier after Wagners Composite Fibre Technologies (CFT) integrated its FRP library with popular structural engineering software SPACE GASS.
SPACE GASS Engineer and Software Developer Mark Watson said the addition of Wagners' FRP library provides users with the ability to quickly and efficiently add FRP sections to their models thereby reducing time and costs associated with the design and analysis of a project.
Pultruded Fibre-Reinforced Polymer (PFRP) profiles are widely used as structural elements in many civil infrastructure applications.
In this paper, a numerical study was undertaken to characterise the local buckling and compressive failure of hollow PFRP profiles under axial compression. The Newton method was used along with the adaptive automatic stabilisation scheme and a controlled increment size in Abaqus 2019, to overcome the numerical difficulties in simulating local buckling.
We have supplied viewing platforms across Australia and our composite structuresare uniquely suited to withstand the harshest environments while providing a low maintenance, long life asset to the local community. Our materials are ideal for coastal, marine, and environmentally sensitive areas.
Possessing a full in-house design and certification team, we will work closely with clients to insure a robust, aesthetically pleasing pedestrian asset that will provide decades of service.
