Welcome to Wagners Composite Fibre Technologies' (CFT) monthly newsletter, which has been created to keep you informed on designing, constructing and working with Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) profiles.
Explore the design, construction and performance of FRP in these raised platforms and the impact they are having on the South Australian osprey numbers.
Featuring Ian Falkenberg from Friends of Osprey, Kevin Betterman from Ardrossan Community and Men's Shed, Rick Hawthorne from Southern Yorke Peninsula Landcare Group and Janet Moore from Northern and Yorke Landscape Board.

Townsville’s East End Boardwalk outperforms 1 in 500-year flood
Unprecedentedrainfall throughout Townsville in February and March saw the region experience a 1 in-500-year flood; with some rainfall totals exceeding a 1 in 2000-year event.
But Townsville’s new East End Boardwalk, despite being subjected to high levels of flooding, performed well beyond expectation, highlighting the durability and resilience of Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP).
Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) utility poles are the answer to aging infrastructure and rising climate resilience demands, offering a lightweight yet durable alternative to traditional materials.
Wagners Composite Fibre Technologies (CFT), Global Utilities Lead, James Lorrimer witnessed this firsthand when he travelled to Dubai in early April for Middle East Energy.
This study investigates the influences of various parameters on the behaviour of perforated Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) tubes under axial compression.
The influences of hole diameter, vertical hole spacing, tube diameter, perforation pattern, transverse hole spacing, and hole reinforcement on the axial compressive behaviour of perforated GFRP tubes were experimentally investigated.
At Wagners CFT, we are extremely proud of our ability to supply a low maintenance, long life asset for public infrastructure projects.
Our shelters are tailored to each clients’ needs and wants, right down to colour choice. Our FRP products have a long service life with reduced maintenance costs in comparison to traditional construction materials.
