Preserving history, embracing innovation: The smart repurposing of Mt Crosby’s Weir Bridge
Mt Crosby’s heritage-listed Weir Bridge in Queensland has been decommissioned and repurposed into a pedestrian bridge featuring a FRP collapsible handrail system designed to protect the structure during flood events.
When the original Lea Lea footbridge collapsed in late 2023, it left the local Papua New Guinean community without a safe crossing over the Rea Rea inlet.
